Question Bowen G6A2 water heater issue, pilot cuts off

In restoring my 73 Trade wind I started working on getting the hot water heater to work. Finally got the pilot light to stay on and start the main burner, but when it gets up to temperature it cuts the main burner and also cuts the pilot off. I am presuming the pilot should stay on , what do I need to to do to keep the pilot staying on and as the temperature of the water drops to reignite the main burner?
