Space between new tanks and floor

I am fabricating new brackets for my new tanks.The tanks are the closest I could get to fit and they do hang below the frame.I will fabricate new belly in this area. When fitted, the 3" dump hits the bottom of the frame.This leaves me about 1.5" between floor and tank since I cannot push up any further.Will this space be ok?

Get your new tank fitting,and the toilet flange,screw them together and see how much room they take up,or if they will adjust to your desired clearance. Dave

It depends on what the new tank is. If it's a graywater tank, you could reduce the 3'"outlet to 1.5" with an eccentric reducer. Then you can push the tank up higher provided you have enough side to side clearance to slide the tank over and get the big end up between the frame rails.

If you can't do that, then be happy with the fact that it will drain nicely with the added pitch toward the outlet. I would not insulate the gap between the floor and the top of the tank.

If it's a blackwater tank I would leave the outlet at 3".

Steve I'am using the same tank as you for gray water. What kind of frame bracket did you use ? Did you bolt or weld to the frame thanks for the help Maurice

Maurice,I had two flat pieces of flat steel 1 1/2"x 4" welded to each end of a section of 1 1/2" in. angle.I made two of these and bolted to the frame.
Once I had these in I added two shorter sections bolted to each end and dropped in the tank.
This only works with a tank that has a lip around it.If the tank needs removal you can unbolt.Look on post 82 of "Gutting the 65"Not real close up but maybe you can see enough to get the idea.It basically creates a frame for the tank to drop in.Further info send me your # in a PM.Steve
