new black and gray tanks 1976 31 ft

With the help of the forum I am still working on a shell off project, new frame and floor complete. Looking to find larger black and gray tanks. My question is what have experiences been locating tanks, which companies good to work with and lastly any one installed tank fittings using the rubber grommets instead of spin fittings. success rate? all feed back appreciated.

VTS
Plastic-mart
Inca
Inland RV

Come to mind,

Google "Plastic tanks for Airstreams"

Then Google " Airforums plastic tanks for Airstreams "

Both will get you some neat images of various shaped tanks and positions.

I got mine through Vintage Trailer Supply. It was made by Inca. It was less expensive than through Inland RV

Thanks. Did you go with the rubber grommets or get spin fittings?

This was a black water tank on a 71. It was identical to the original with Thetford screw in fittings. Black Polyethylene instead of clear. I did have the option of going with Valtera but chose Thetford because I had a new Thetford dump valve.

i used rubber fittings on the new tanks and made my own spin fitting tool and added a drain to my existing fresh water tank. rigged a tool using a router and a socket. be sure to balance rig and use arbor large enough to handle initial start up torque. bounced a couple of sockets off wall till i got i right.
