1975 Sovereign 31' mid bath waste tank replacement

So I have removed my old Blackwater tank after finding a crack around the tank at the hole for the toilet flange. Does anyone know of a good supplier for a replacement tank? Has anyone had success finding exact dimensions or retro fitting another size? This tank was supported by a pan that hot air circulated through from the furnace.

you might try "out of doors mart" in clinton NC ..... 75 is a little early, but they have a lot of early AS stuff.

There are places that plastic weld tanks and that really works if done well.

There are also some repair kits available at RV parts dealers. An epoxy mix with a fiberglass patch. Might work for you if you can't find a place to do the plastic welding.

I have the same floorplan trailer and same style holding tanks, just a few years newer. Just for my reference, How much of a hassle was it to drop that tank?

I know what would have to be disconnected and all, but in removing the enclosure from the bottom of the trailer, did you have to drop the gray water tank as well, or can only the back half of that enclosure be removed to get the black tank out? Of the hundreds of bolts holding that enclosure to the bottom of the trailer, did they all come out easily or were most firmly rusted in place?

The tank looks like an Inca plastics H-189. Call Inca and inquire about a new tank.

The most labor intensive part was drilling out all the rivets to get the belly off. As for the bolts holding the support arms, I thoroughly soaked them in wd-40 and with a wrench on both sides they could be persuaded. And yes you can remove the black water only...the gray tank is towards the front on. The trailer. I supported the tank with a 2x10 and a jack while disconnecting everything, then unscrew the toilet flange and the thetford valve and viola! Its out!

Thanks that is an exact fit! One question. Our stream will be Our temporary residence while we build our House and we will be hooked up to septic. Would you recommend a standard sewer drain line or reinstalling a new tank. I think the regular pipe might work better and I could always reinstall a tank if we want to go on thee road. Any thoughts? We still have a domestic head so we would use a bucket of water to chase the solids.

Could you clarify just a little more? Did you have to remove the belly skin aft of the enclosure?

The way it looks it seems that you just remove the perimeter bolts on the rear half of the enclosure, and the bolts on the seam in the middle, and it would drop out.

You said something about wrenches on both sides of the bolts. Is it a bolt with a nut on the inside? I always assumed the frame was threaded for the bolts.

Since you have that much disassembled, how does the rear half of your frame look? Almost seems like it would be worth the effort at this point to pull the banana wrap to check outriggers, and maybe treat any rust.
