Vintage Trailer Supply 20 gallon fresh water tank

I want to replace the metal cylinder holding tank with a new plastic tank. VTS' has a 20 gallon tank for only $70. Dimensions are 10x12x40. Has anybody installed this tank in their 50s/60s Airstream? Any pitfalls with the installation? Is see that there are four fittings all on one side. The only thing holding me back is the small capacity. A 30 gallon would be better but you can't beat this price. I haul an external 50 gallon water tank when I go boondocking so capacity isn't a big issue.

20 gallons is pretty small. I would find something that has a larger capacity and will fit in the area you want to install it in. Have you looked at these:

Wow, thanks Richard! Never visited that site. I'm limited to 10" of height so that 29 and 36 gallon tank would work perfect. The prices are right, too!

I have bought all of my tanks from RV Surplus plus a few other things. They were excellent to work with. 2 of the tanks they had to build and it took about 3 weeks for delivery, but I was informed up front.

I agree with Aerowood. I also purchased tanks from RV Surplus and had good service. I actually placed an order for a custom tank for a Silver Streak and and asked them to cancel the order about a week later and their policy states that custom orders are non refundable. They refunded my money and just said to remember them when I needed anything else. I did about 6 months later and purchased a black and a gray tank. Good service.
