Remove copper from under bed

I have taken all the copper out of the 1975 Overlander, and ran pex. I can't get the two copper pipes from under the curb side twin bed. I have cut it at both ends, but it won't come out. How do I remove the twin bed so I can get at where the pipes are attached. They must be secured to the ductwork with one of those strap things.

Is there any real reason that it has to come out? I had copper that I replaced with PEX in my 22' Argosy, and one section, under the front couch, and also under the platform which holds up the plastic bins would not come out, like yours. I just cut it off at either end and left it where it was.

We've have the fold out double in ours, and having taken it apart, you are right, the lines are clamped to the ducting at a couple of points. I just pulled the cushions off and started unscrewing but the twin installation might be different.......Phil.

The twins are different. The front gaucho must be like your rear double, it would be easy to get to the pipes. I can't figure out how to remove the twin frame so I can get at the pipes. I have lots of other things to work on, so cutting them off as best as I can and leaving them where they are is probably going to happen.

When you remove the mattress do you not have a two piece plywood platform as the base? In the 71 you fold the piece along the wall back to you to access that area.....

Nope. All riveted aluminum/tin stuff.
It would be nice to get it out from under there, but I'm not going to spend a lot of time worrying about it.

use a pair of tin snips, and flatten it first, then snip through the copper I got all mine out that way. You can push it through the rubber c holding it in usually if it's a small enough piece.
