How To Use Pressurized System

We just purchased a 1960 Overlander. It has a working pressurized system for water. We have a 1962 Bambi that I converted to an on demand pump but I would like to keep this one original as long as I can.

My question is, how do I fill it up before I head off to boondocking? Do I release air pressure? Will I run water into the air compressor if I don't stop in time? When I am connected to water at home or in a campground, do I leave the compressor off and if so do I have to worry about it getting water in it.

I checked the manuals and searched this forum but did not find anything. Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks
Tom

Tom, you should be able too fill the pressurized water tank through the filler door on the street side of the trailer. You should find a cap with a garden hose inlet and a cap type with an air valve, like you would find on a tire. The garden hose cap gets put on, a hose hooked up, and city water fills the tank under pressure. The air inlet cap you would remove, fill the tank, then either use the valve from an external compressor or run the onboard compressor for boon docking.
Unless the compressor plumbing is bad, you shouldn't have to worry about getting city water into it.

Thanks for the reply. I will check it all out tomorrow. I wanted to make sure I wasn't going to ruin anything.
