Backflow preventer

I'm curious as to whether my 58 Flying Cloud has a backflow preventer. Could it be something as simple as that 2" brass hex-shaped thing just after the hose connection? If so, does it need servicing?

It sounds like that is where it is. Mine are there anyway.

Can you post a pic?

Sounds about right................

Check valves usually don't need servicing unless something gets stuck in them. They usually work....or they don't! If yours is the all brass variety then you should be good for a while. I see most of the problems with the plastic models or the brass exteriors with the plastic valves inside.
