Air in fresh water lines
This is a 29' 1976 Airstream renovated for extended travel. Because the copper pipes were showing signs of previous freezing events I replaced all of the fresh water lines with Upanor PEX in 2010 and installed a new pump. The pump and lines functioned flawlessly.
When the first pump failed 18 months ago I replaced it with a new pump. It worked for the first year and then started putting out a mixture of air and water through the sink faucets and shower but there is no air mixed with the water coming out of the toilet spray handle.
The pump has been used for no more than a week each month and never been exposed to freezing temperatures. There is no air in the FW lines when hooked up to shore spigot but air enters the water from somewhere when I turn on the pump.
The pump primes its self. No cracks in the filter. No loose fittings on the input side. No signs of water leaking from any of the intake lines. I am at a loss as to where the air is entering the system but I can only presume that it is coming in from the intake side but again I can not see a leak in the lines. Any suggestions welcome. Thanks
