Exterior Lighting

When we finish polishing (as if we'll really ever finish, right?) and are ready to re-attach the exterior lights, should we use any butyl tape where the screws penetrate the skin? We have a leak from our "Scare" light so I'm making a new back gasket and would like to seal that fixture up. Thanks!

I would'nt use butyl tape, but I would seal the base and screw penetrations with sikaflex 221 or 721. Seal only top and sides and leave the bottom of the bases alone so any water entry can drain out.
