Cleaning new 2016 Airstream
Has any one used Meguiars ultimate wash and wax on new Airstream?
Looking for a one step solution to washing and waxing. Is it safe to use on clear coat?

That is a very good product. Wash and wax products such as this one are primarily a wash that will leave a little wax behind. The wax that is left behind is to offer some protection between regular waxing. It is not designed to take the place of regular hand or machine applied waxes, polishes or sealants! All new car washes are safe for clear coats, since all automobiles have used this process for more than twenty years. Nothing on the market will take the place of a good hand or machine applied waxing or polishing. You should at least wax your trailer once a year, more often under severe conditions! There's just no easy way around it.

I've been using that exact product, and it works great on both my AS and truck.

Meguiars ultimate wash and wax is great for cars, but I'm not sure what effect this would have on the plasticoat. I would stick to what Airstream recommends and use Walbernize RV Super Seal.

I was going to use Walbernize but read on the forum that it left rock guards with a streaky finish. Not sure wether Airstream only recommend Walbernize because they sell it on there website🤔

The effect it's had on mine is that it has a really nice shine, and water beads right off. After washing and rinsing I dry it off with clean microfiber cloths.

Walbernize is for the aluminum surfaces; the rock guards come out looking best with a stainless steel cleaner/polish like the Weiman products. Joe

I have been using Meguires wash and wax exclusively on both our 2012 and 2013 Airtstreams and it works beautifully. I wash my trailer every 4 to 6 weeks.
The biggest problem I discovered was making sure to use clean water to wash as well as to rinse. I use a dispenser with the hose and brush. I used to use a bucket and mix it in there however as the water got dirty I noticed fine hairline scratch marks.

I just did my new 16" Bambi with Mothers wash and synthetic wax came out great. After doing it I have utmost respect for the time it must take to do a 30 footer!!

I have used that Meguiar's product and others with good results.
Any good car wash soap and any good paste wax will do, even the least expensive green Turtle Wax.
No liquid wax will last as long as a hard paste wax.
The liquid wax is good for washing between the once per year hard paste wax.

I use a good car wash soap and then follow it up with Walbernize. It looks terrific. Goes over the windows too... glass and the front plastic ones.

I'm sure it looks great, I use it for my Armada. My concern is what long term effect does it have on the plasticoat. Will it degrade the plasticoat faster or will it protect it just as well as Walbernize?

The best soap is DAWN dish soap, cut road tar and dirt with one wash, then I use GLARE WAX.

I saw a post somewhere on the forum about using WD-40 for the SS rock guards. Has anyone else done this with good results?

I've used WD-40 to clean bugs and road stuff off the SS rock guards, and gave them a quick wipe at the same time. So far they continue to look about the same as when new.

Actually what happens if you wash it frequently the wax coating builds up and gives you great protection. No it will not harm your clear coat.
Must use clean wash water.
My brotherinlaw is in the car wash business. They use a similar wax in their rinse water so that the Blowers can actually dry the car. Costumers who wash frequently complain about the wax build up on their windshields which affects the wipers. So they clean the glass with Denatured Alcohol to strip the wax.

I use dawn, and Glare. I just did 19' yesterday, I agree, 30' a lot of work. We then had rain, love the beading! I found some baling on top, ordered the clear coat pen
