Blue MaGic
I had several friends recommend polishing with a produce called Blue Magic. I have seen their trailers and I must admit they look great, so it makes me ask if anyone out there has used this product, and what are the 'pros & cons of using it? Anyone?

In my experience , it is a very light polish, would cost a fortune to polish an AS with it with mediocre results... Just my opinion !

I picked up a couple Jars at Flying J years ago. Cost was reasonable compared to many of the popular polishes and I felt it did a decent job. I felt that a little went a long way and I am still on the first jar after two repolishings.
I was not starting with a "never been polished" situation so I can't speak to a first polish job but I am happy with it.

I bought a small container of Blue Magic and will give it a try. I am a bit worried about the silicone in the mixture and will use it to work on my tanks first. I have them close to final polish and wonder where the BM fits in as far as grittiness. My gut feeling is somewhere between "C" and "S" that Nuvite offers, any one?

Blue Magic? That the name of a "brand" of heroin sold on the streets of NYC in the 70s. Strange name for a polish!

I've played around with various alumimun polishes thru the years, and Blue Magic is one that I can comment on. It gives a protective finish like NOTHING else that I've used!(actually, the was a polish called "extreme" that gave a comparable protective coating) I believe it comes in various size containers with the small being the most expensive per ounce....walt...tulsa,ok

Call P&S
If you are unsure of using it, I would reccomend you call P&S Trailer in Ohio who are known to be the polish pros and ask them what they use?

A friend of mine has a polished Swift (airplane) He has completely switched from the Nuvite line to Blue MaGic. He has even tried a half/half and says the Blue holds the shine a lot longer. That said, it is a product for an all ready polished trailer to do the annual re-shine. It is not abrasive enough to do an initial polish on 40 years of oxidation. Once mine is polished, I plan to use it as a maintenance product.

I have had excellent results with blue magic even as the initial polish.
Trailer is a 1961 and sat in the mountains its whole life. Likely the first time it has been polished.

So true! he he he... needed a chuckle tonight.
8 inches of snow and ice. I fell asleep in my trailer and 3 hours later was trapped by melting ice over the door. Oh the joys of a space heater aimed at the door. 20 minutes later "pop" "crunch" and the ice had fallen off.

Where do you find the Blue Magic? I see some in small sizes, but feel we would need larger quantity. Any suggestions?

When you say polish here are you talking about using an electric buffer or doing it by hand?

Thanks Laura. When you say new do you mean it is ok to put it on with the clear coat still there?
Thanks again in advance.

I am a complete newbie - so I have no clue. It is brand new - about 3 weeks old. So I don't know if it gets polished when it comes off the production line (which for us was 2/14/14). Just felt we would give it a good wash and wax or polish or whatever we need to do! Thanks!

Blue Magic is an abrasive polish for uncoated aluminum. You DO NOT want to use it on a new trailer. This type of polish is used on trailers from about 1964 back or newer ones where the protective coating has been purposely removed.

you will be polishing the sealant- clearcoat. So use a paste car wax to do that. A metal polish will hurt that finish.
As for BlueMagic...try ToolBox Polish ..you can get it at Lowe's,,tons of folks here use it on the bare aluminum it works great for a first pass and touchups

BY the way you can polish a newer trailer...it just need the clearcoat removed first, and may not be worth all that extra work.
