Locked Out

So somehow on the way home my new 1968 ambassador locked itself and I don’t have the key and neither do the previous owner, it’s possible it’s in the trailer but unknown, it doesn’t look like the original door knob but how would you go about getting it open? Locksmith? Drilling?

Since the door closes from the outside, you should be able to see the strike. Working with a couple of small standard screwdrivers, and maybe a putty knife, you should be able to work the strike back into the door until it is out of the strike-pocket, and the door will open. Similar to the old way of using a credit card to jimmy a door open.

good luck!

Drive to a locksmith and have them make you a key for it.
