Length of 1975 Excella 31ft ...

Its me again ... I am now about to lower the shell back on to my new frame. (This weekends goal). I have the plywood all cut at 92". Front curve is cut and new "C" channel in place. I have cut around the wheels. I can not cut the back curve as I do not have a measurement for the length of the shell ? its flexible at the moment hanging from hoist. I could lower the shell over the frame if I take the frame off the stands now keeping it perfectly level. But I was hoping to have it cut before I did so. And to have a measurement to double check my work. Anyone know the shell end to end length of a 31 footer down the center ?

If not I will lower it on top and do it that way ...

DONE - and WOW it FITS

OK ... so I dropped my shell back on to my frame ... cut the back curve perfect in one shot using the new channel as template. I had to use spackle knives and some scrap tin to slide the corners over (Like shoe horn) that is how tight it was. Im so happy that is over ...It is a perfect fit to a new constructed frame. The hole for the cord in the front was off my maybe a millimeter.

WOW ...

Now the fun can begin ... Ive waited 6 months to get my frame back under the coach. on to electric, plumbing, spray foam, new skin ...

OH .... I also purchased a 1972 Trade winds ... Its official I am an airstream addict ... but the 72 is already completely restored ...

That makes # 3 in our fleet ...LOL ---- Photos coming soon ...
