Ahh, the ice cubes! THAT'S what was missing!

Not to hijack the thread but... I was totally surprised when, last week, we had an emergency on I-95 and not one person stopped to see if they could help. Three women, two teen girls, 4 horses. Two flat tires. 5:30 on the highway. I was just surprised. But, guess my friend won't belittle me anymore about my inspecting tires, hitch, etc before I tow! Thankfully it all turned out okay - but transfering horses to another trailer on the interstate could have been really ugly. Harrowing experience.

There are lots of tools that I could imagine brining with me, but exactly one that I never leave home without:

must have tools

here's a few more that are extremely useful:

1. Electrical fish-tape (for finding access holes and fishing wire through the walls and finding where you can and can't go).
2. 3 sets of drill bits and hole saws
3. 20 different sizes of sheet, automotive and wood screws easily accessable
4. DeWalts best jig saw--just buy it!
5. a good router
6. dewalt rechargable flashlight
7. computer for searching for parts online--i think we use this tool the most.
8. olympic rivot shaver
9. big pieces of cardboard for demoing profiles
10. shop vac--you can't do precision work in a messy space

cheers

More beer thoughts.

For a real treat find Tripel Karmeleit. It is brewed in Belgium and sent to France to be bottled like a champagne would be!
My oldest son lives in Ft. Collins and introduced me to Fat Tire. One of my favorites and we get it on tap here in WI. I might also suggest a product of the New Glarus Brewery in New Glarus, WI, Spotted Cow, a really good beer.

By the way, when I was in my twenties all I knew about beer was that I didn't like Budweiser, Schlitz, or Hams. I did recognize that free beer was always good no matter what label.....

TRIPLE A. Used it twice pulling my tt home to Texas from Georgia. WHO KNEW the truck would run out of gas so fast?? Live and Learn. Thankfully, we had a TT to wait in wit snacks and cold ones AND A bottle opener....was like Chevey Chase's vacation...we laughed till it hurt..and just hung out till AAA appeared in our rear view. GOOD TIMES..

I need to check this one out. I've always wondered about this tool and now I need something like this for my Overlander.

I like my old school, worn out, won't cut warm butter anymore, fits in my pocket....Leatherman.

My Grandpa gave me his when I was about 16 and have carried it ever since(except on airplanes).

Great thread, by the way.

Well even I would have packed some Electrical Fish Tape if I knew it told you where you can and can't go. Been a problem of mine for years.......
