I've given up trying to find something that will last.
THIS will be my next attempt. The extrusion it still in pretty good shape on our Classic, it's the insert that bites the dust.
This stuff lasted 9yrs on our boat, worth a try. 👍

Just to be clear....I am looking for the aluminum extrusion, not the vinyl inserts.

You may have to call Airstream directly. That’s the old style. You could go with the newer style and use the chrome insert. Problem with the chrome is it ages fairly quickly. Id like to find black or another solid color myself

Inland has the aluminum extrusion that resembles your pic, my apology for not being more accurate

Mirage Trailer Parts

Mirage Trailer Parts carries Aluminum RubBar extrusions. They have a numbers of different sizes.

http://www.mirageinc.com/aluminum-ex...-58-rub-rail-8

Also, https://www.vinylgraphics.net carries the vinyl inserts in varieties of colors. Both inserts as you need and adhesive for later model Airstreams.

Side Note:
I have a 2013 FC Airstream that has the adhesive backed rub-bar inserts. The chrome inserts on our trailer were in pretty bad shape, and very expensive to order from Airstream. Just to be different I ordered the insert in Daytona Blue which is the close to the classic Airstream Blue, and it looks great and seems to be holding up to road and weather exposure better than the OEM chrome inserts.

Hope that helps.

You might try Woodland Travel Center, for the rubrail extrusion, they were very helpful and had the rubrail insert when I needed it recently.

I recently found a source for the insert for polished stainless steel with the double faced tape backing. Carid.com I bought a 100' roll of the 1" material earlier this year and just ordered 150' of the 5/8 material yesterday. Both rolls were priced under $100 each. The actual dimension of the trim is slightly narrower than the nominal size listed however once installed you would never know the difference. The attached link shows the material is out of stock however the supplier just received inventory and is now shipping. https://www.carid.com/ri/ri-body-sid...ng-310056.html

Was just at the Salem Rally. Airstream NW was a sponsor and had some for sale in their booth.

Just a follow up...First thanks to all that have responded .

I finally called Airstream Factory. They told me any AS dealer can order it.The closest dealer is 50 miles from me (mini road trip). He ordered it and it the price per foot was less than any web pricing

Good morning. Noted your post and I am looking for the rubrail insert. Has the product from Woodland held up for you?

Good morning. Read this with interest, I am in the same fix you were in. Replaced the insert twice and it is expensive and does not last. How is the polished stainless holding up for you? And checked the link you provided and it took me to the vendor but had trouble finding the exact product. Would you have the stock number? Thanks in advance. Tom
