A Few Favorite Things
Do you buy 1/8" drill bits in contractor packs? Do you find youself wondering why rivets come in such inconveniently small packages of just 100? Are you on a first name basis with everyone at the aluminum recycler? In other words, has Airstream restoraton/repair become less a project and more a way of life?
Then perhaps you, like me, have discovered a few favorite things you could share.
I may add a few later but here are some of mine, some I've discovered, some I learned about here on these forums:
Aluminum tape. Don't leave home without it. Sometimes it can be considered a permanent repair.
Casterol Super Clean Degreaser. I used it at 50% strength to get the gummy residue off the vinyl walls. Quick, easy, amazing.
Krylon Fusion Spray paint. This stuff is great. Easy to apply, and you get professional looking results. So many of the plastics in my coach had yellowed, blotchy surfaces. Now things like the little slider on the screen door and the air conditioner cover (interior) look not new, better!
Rot Doctor penetrating epoxy. How did I ever get by without it?
Parrbond.
And, of course, Airstream Forums!
