I assume a lot of popcorn is being consumed because of this thread.
Friday TV is like that. And Sunday football isn't that far off.

I've seen many negative battery cables with red plastic insulation and the positive one with black insulation.

I live in the ottawa area and worked on cars for 34 years . I have never seen a positive ground 1999 dodge pickup , the best thing to do is go outside and follow the ground - negative wire ( black in color)And if it goes on the engine block or body its negative ground . Simple !

positive ground my plastic pays
just for clarity the vehicle in question has to have a stock starting system.
I will bring a mirror, a flash light and a camera. Results will be posted.
After the first of the year as the claim jumper is near the mall and that place is a mess for the holidays.
Or save yourself the lunch and follow the black cable off of either battery to the engine block.

I own a 1997 Dodge Ram 3500 and a 2005 2500 both 5.9L Cummins.
Both are negative ground and factory stock dual 12V battery setups.

Wiring Diagram
Guys,
Forgot I have access to Mitchell but right now I don't have any more picture space to attach a file.
The Mitchell wiring diagram for a 1999 Dodge Ram 5.9L Cummins shows a NEGATIVE ground system.
I have a JPG snip of it, sorry about not being able to post it.
Gary

This may help or harm. Take a large wire with bare hands press one end on the pos battery end and the other on a ground source like the engine or frame. If nothing happens post A is correct. If it welds you into the truck then the rest of us will be satisfied.
Just a little humor ,,,its like my dad told me about a small screw driver and an electrical outlet. about my son one" day he will only do it once"
thanks for the entertainment

Following a particular color wire won't do squat. First you need to identify which post is positive and which is negative and then see what cable of whatever color goes to ground. Since the OP (of this particular topic, not the entire thread) apparently has no interest in going beyond simply parroting what some unknown tech told him, I strongly believe the OP is trolling the whole bunch of us who are taking the bait, hook, line, and sinker and then swallowing it all without even chewing it a bit. I'll bet he is laughing his behind off.

Action, do you want to meet for lunch on Wednesday? I'm leaving CG and heading to Vegas on Friday as I have to pick up my wife at the airport. Should be back in CG the last week of January.

Wednesday could work for me. I have a meeting in North Phoenix that ends about 11:30AM. If you are good with 12:30PM then let's set it for Wednesday.
After that the President will be in town for 24 hours and the roads will be jambed up a bit with security. I would rather not trravel during that event.
