What psi?

I used to have the orignal size tires 7.00 / 15 with the correct pressure of 50psi
but as i could not get them here in holland ,I had to settle for the next best
and that was 8.40 / 15 and they are 10 ply .
now what is the best tire pressure for these tires ?
the trailer weighs about 2.3 tons
26 foot overlander from 1968.

regards George

Check the ratings of the tires and recommended pressure by tire manufacturer.

I have tire standards manuals for the US, Europe and Japan. A 7.00-15LT is listed in the US and Japanese manuals, but not the European manual. But none of them list an 8.40-15.

There is very likely some loading information on the sidewall along with the maximum inflation pressure. Would you please look at the tire and tell us EXACTLY what it says. It ought to be in the form of "Max Load XXXX Lbs at YY psi."

Also look to see if it has a load index. That should look like "XXX/YYY" followed by a letter.
