Tire brands
Sorry to start a new tire thread but I have read through a bunch and have seen mention of GY marathon, Maxxis's, Towmax, and Michelin.
What about Dunlop, General, or BF Goodrich?
Comparing apples to apples (size, load rating, speed rating, etc) the only difference I come up with.
Dunlop and General are 30% less.
Does less cost mean less quality?

We've been running Goodyear tires for 17 years and over 200k. Quality product and excellent dealer network. Buy the best, your life depends on it. I am not a REP.

Howdy!
I use Goodyear (GY) on my TV and trailers (5er, & AS). We have had our problems with GY tires but they have always paid for all damages and repairs we have incurred without question. Can't say the same for the other tire companies, and we have tired to file claims with the others and been refused. We will continue buying and using GY tires.

Speaking of tires,
If you live in the Fayetteville, GA area, I am highly recommending Trailers for Less, Fayetteville, GA, for any service relating to your tires (i.e., purchasing a new set, getting the tire mounted on your existing rim, and costs. They are great. I've been using them for more than seven years. They worked on my FBI Crime Scene trucks and trailers that were purchased from them. I can highly recommend them. They just fixed the axle and replaced tires on my friend's STARCRAFT trailer. Give them a trial. Again, this information is for those of you who are out of warranty and want some good work done for reasonable prices. JIM is the owner.

Have Bridgestone and Michelins on the cars and trucks.
AS has Goodyear Marathons.
Bought a new cargo trailer with Chinese tires. Had a blowout after 1500 miles with near empty trailer. Now has Goodyear Marathons on it.
When inspecting blown tire, it said "Made in China" where the rim hid it from view.

I run Michelin on everything aside from my motorcycle; that gets Metzler since Michelin doesn't make tires that size any more.
I have used Goodyear on the truck before; they last perhaps 70% as long as the Michelin tires, and the Michelin tires have a better road feel.
