Contender TTT868 Tires

After purchasing my 2007 international 25FB ocean breeze, I experienced a bearing failure and a damaged tire on my 2,000 mile road trip back home. Needless to say, I'm thinking of going with this tire from "discount tire direct". I was wondering if anyone had any experience using this tire as nothing showed up using the search feature.

Brand: Taskmaster Tire
Model: Contender TTT868
Specs: ST225/75 R15 117M E1 RBL
$63 + tax & shipping

I like the fact that it has an M speed eating (81mph) and E load rating ( 10 ply @ 80psi) which is pretty competitive to the GYE (good year endurance) at half the cost.

Timken American made bearing and American made tires are the only way to go.Repack bearings every 10,000 miles.

Thumbs up

Interestingly enough taskmaster is a Texas company!

I think I'm going to give them a try and report back on their quality

Did you read this on their website:

"Taskmaster Components was an early adopter of sourcing tires and wheels independently on a global scale."

They're an importer.

I ended up replacing my one tire with the contender ttt868 and put 700 miles on it in Texas on my way from Amarillo to Austin to Houston. Apparently it is a very popular tire for trailers here. I will report back on my experience with them and post pictures of it installed on my AS.

I never heard of this brand, the price would scare me away fast, you always get what you pay for, there are no bargains out there....what does the damage to your trailer cost due to a tire failure? .......

Haven't heard anything negative about them. And since their tire rating is better than my good year marathons, I'll give it a shot.

Actually I think you should replace all the tires if you are still running Marathons. I would go to the GYE tires at twice or 3 times that price and still think they were a better buy. But I have absolutely no knowledge of the tire you list and bought. And no interest in learning. I pull my trailer 10,000 miles a year and do not like to have tire issues on the road.
