Ok, Just came home with new " shoes " 62 tradewind, local trailer shop uses Dexter axles for horse trailers and very familar with older airstreams. 5200# axle, new hubs, brakes, labor, wired, new rims, tires balanced, and ready to go same day "once axle showed up" (5 days). $836 out the door.. Did you use the original drop height? I have a '60 with a 4" drop and the belly pan will surely drag on the speed bumps! I'm thinking that dexter has variable drop heights including zero.
