There are two wires located in this area.
Which one do I use??
Why 2 wires?
Both are Kaiser Aluminum .
One has a bigger diameter and there is one like it in the trunk area not connected the the breaker box.
Also, there are two ribs running parallel to the new hole in the ceiling, a few inches from each side, running fore and aft.
I am assuming this is where the AC support frame ties into the structure for support.
Suggestions are welcomed.
Enclosed are 4 pics.

The AC's that Airstream used in
1967, did not require roof supports, since it became part of the roof.
Adding a new AC today, will require 2 horizontal stringers that tie into the fore and aft main bows. Additionall, two other sections of supprts must be added between the 2 stringers, making the 14 x 14 inch hole in the roof secure. It not done that way, a new AC will cave the roof in.
The largest wire is for the power to the AC. It terminates near the breaker panel, and must be wired into that panel, using a separate circuit breaker rated at 20 amps, no more and no less.
The smaller wire, is for the thermostat wires. The other end of that wire should be in the rooflocker on the road side, and behind the bulkhead.
The 2 stringers I mentioned must be added in addition to the two that you see.
