Cleaning Furnace
My furnace is producing a lot of soot on the exhaust port. The manual says it needs a cleaning and probably a flame adjustment. Last summer I saw a mud daubber wasp going in the fresh air port several times until I sprayed him with bug spray. Probably built a mud nest in there.
I have removed the furnace (UGH....what a job it was! Ask me, I am now the expert) and I was wondering what was the best way to clean out the heat exchanger. Maybe with forced air and a bottle brush? Maybe flush out with water?.......or ????? I also plan to remove the burner and clean it.
My furnace is a Suburban model NT30SFA. Suggestions would be appreciated. Bill

Completely disassemble the furnace.
You can tap on the combustion chanber to loosen the rust and soot.
Then you can flush it out with water, no air.
Replace all the furnace gaskets.

Furnace Cleaning
I'm putting this up here "one more time" to see if anyone has "first hand" experience to share. Bill
