a/c theromstat

i have a 78 int. and the a/c works , but the theromstat is missing. can i get one at "lowe's" or "home depot" or do i have too get one from a rv dealer?it has a fan speed selector on the unit also. my other a/s trailer has all the controls on the wall mounted theromstat.i hooked it up temporarley to see if it would work, the comp. would only kick on when you switched the fan on the therom. to the hi fan speed setting and it would never cycle off. so i guess i need a different theromstst. thanks for any help

Digital thermostat

The new digital thermostats are vrey nice and easy to adjust and connect. They are powered by a 9 volt battery and are also a digital clock. Kmart has several models of White digital and can be purchased for about $26. I've installed several units and both heat and air conditioning can be programmed long or short time. The settings are very accurate based on other digital temp gages.....in the same area..

There are thermostats that will work fine without having to buy a specific model that is considered an RV unit.

Here is a link to a previous thread. Bottom line try purchasing one from WalMart. If it doesn't work you should be able to return it.
