Pilot light concern

New forum member. Recently purchased a 1967 Globetrotter that I plan to renovate. The Magic Chef gas stove works fine but I'm a little concerned about the constant pilot light. When I open the gas supply line I am supposed to light the pilot right away. I did just that and it lit and works fine. What concerns me is if someone was using the stove and forgets to light the pilot in the oven. Is there a possibility of a gas buildup in the oven and an explosion?

I feel your concern here. My hub won't light the hot water. I bought a 90 Excella thats been to every state and half of Canada. He won't dress warmly. I moved from an acreage to the city. I treasure peace nature, all that. He won't do boondocking. Wasted $. However, if there ARE leaks I would like to know. Thanks ps I don't know how forums work either.
