The Sunshine Skyway.

Within a 20 min. drive of my house.

Located on I-275 crossing the channel entrance to Tampa Bay.
Fort Desoto the birthplace of the Tincan Tourists is viewable from the entire length of the bridge. My family used to camp there when I was a kid and the place has not changed. It is still one of the best state parks I know of with campsites right on the water and a beach that rates in the top five for the country.

I was also living here when the old bridge was rammed by a tanker and collapsed on a rainy morning. I think it happenned around 1980.
