It has been a lot of years since I had a summer job washing airplanes at a flying school and taking my pay in bootleg flight hours (had to be bootleg hours, no ground school first), but some things about flying haven't changed since the days of Glenn Hammond Curtiss. Can't say the Wright Brothers; Curtiss invented the landing gear!
Hi Pro,

I don't doubt for a second that you're right about the aviation terminology; my point is that the definition of rotate is essentially to turn around an axis or center and that conjures up a quite different visual for me, a layperson when it comes to aviation, except for the fact that when I was working I had an international travel job. Thanks for the education!

I understand lawn tractors much better than aeroplanes. Our Craftsman looks just like yours except ours is red. Goes good, mower breaks all the time. Just put a plow on it so it wouldn't snow anymore and it has worked!

Well, we could go back to post #1 and redo it in a foreign language.

I'll start.

Willkommen in der Breakfast Show .......

.... oder wir waren irgendwo ( ?) auf dem Rand von ( ?) wenn der Kaffee begann zu greifen. Jungfernfahrt in wenigen Tagen. Ich fühle mich ein wenig Leichtfüssig!

Ag & Au, your translation of "Where are we going?" is all Greek to me.

Carrying on.....

How about it if I post the pictures and narrative while I'm there, safely in the bosom of fellow travellers. If anyone has a nefarious inclination, by the time they get there, I'll be long gone.

I am not inferring this site is loaded with perverts, serial killers, and the like....but it is still the internet.

Am I right about this, do you think?
"A diamond in a mule's arse."

What a delightful phrase...in multiple languages:

The Spanish would say....un diamante en el culo de una

The Germans.....ein Diamant in einem Maultier Arsch

The Italians...un diamante nel culo di un mulo

And the French....un diamant dans le cul de mulet!

Kinda reminds me of this....

Though 50 years since I "studied" Spanish and managed to learn very little, is it not "Yo se hablo el Español…"?

Nyet!

I think "Yo se hablo el Español" may mean, "I speak the Spanish to myself."

Πού πάμε

What language next for post #3?

Pro, one of my aunts married a Greek. What do most Greeks own? A restaurant.

After being privy to the typical Greek restaurant kitchen, I was well-versed in Greek profanity....and cultivated a dislike for bunt.

BTW, post #3 (or the best part of it) has already been translated.

Something about a diamond in a mule's arse.

Don't feel alone. I'm barely fluent or literate in English, let alone any of those weird foreign lingoes.

I do know one pun that makes no sense whatsoever in its original language, but only in translation… ¿Como frijole? --> How you bean?
