Maggie, truly appreciate the support and enthusiasm from you and others.

I would like to say more, but I do not want to breech the forum's no-advertising policy.

Our little company has been invited to participate in the Oscar-week celebrity gifting room promo. It is not considered a celebrity endorsement, but we are allowed to take photos of the celeb with the product. (BTW, we were told that few A-listers show up - they send their personal assistants - but a few well-knowns are expected). Trust my no-holes-barred assistant George to describe it as "pimping the product!"

Anyway, when the promo is over, like any winter-wary Canadian, we are going to see a few sights and catch a few rays.

Holy Crop! - What a Lower Cdn $ Looks Like at the Dealership

Dropped into the dealership today to see if the new window was in.

It wasn't.

So, decided to take a lookey-loo at some of the 2015s peppering the lot. Lo and behold, when I spotted an Airstream Interstate, I made a beeline over because I have never seen one in person.

Very nice unit with the leather seats, ship-deck flooring, and other bells and whistles. The price: "Marked down to $160,000!"

I didn't look at the new Airstream trailers - lest I go into sticker shock.

This low Canadian dollar is not fun when you're shopping for a new American-made RV.

Sure am glad I bought when I did!

Hi, today we went to the Portland Auto Show; They had an Airstream display with one Interstate, one 19'er, one 23'er, and a 27'er. My wife agreed that the Interstate is very cramped and tight inside, but quite huge on the outside. The 27'er [two feet longer than our trailer] cost about three times what we paid for our trailer. We agreed to keep what we have.

Note: The Interstate was so expensive, I couldn't afford to take a picture of it.

What they're doing with the Interstates these days is ridiculous...IMO.

There must be a market out there for these hyper-tricked-up units, I guess, or Airstream wouldn't be making them.

I am very happy with our little luxury camper van....one little tv, two seats up front, rear lounge makes into a comfy bed.

Good enough for me, and all I need.

Interstate prices

For me, the concept is attractive, but, I think I would seek out a used Interstate, as this is IMO the type of vehicle which within a couple years is probably half of retail price. Thus, 20,000 miles, two years, maybe I could go with $80,000 or even less. Then a small trailer on the back with a motorcycle or scooter to get around...yeah, I could do this. Especially for short trips to some of the racing venues I attend, this could be attractive.

Now, where do i find one used at that price, and of course, in the colors and floor plan I expect.....?

Hi, my wife made the comment about the new Interstate having four seats in front, wasting all of that space. Two seats with a rear bed would be better. After all, it would best suit two people, at most, anyway.

MsMo, in Daytona red with a white stripe, hood scoop, and spoiler on the back so you can race it?

Robert, Yes. Two seats, four seats, or no seats at all - what matters is the fact Maggie loves, hers, and you love yours, and I love mine.....and so on.......

Oh, baby. What a wonderful world.

Aren't those "camels" in the ads dromedaries? Don't camels have one hump, not two? Maybe I have it reversed. Maybe they do.

The product—when do I get a test version?

Will you be on the red carpet? I can't stand awards shows, but I'd watch for that.

As for fixing cars years ago, don't forget the match book cover to set the points—just the right thickness for most cars.

One of my many character flaws is to want it my way......this means unused, white with gray interior, and for half price. Oh, yes, and I want it now. Without the wasteful extra set of seats😎

Hi, I was told to use a paper match stick for setting points. As poor as I was [and still am] I had a set of feeler gauges. A few times out on the road, I just used my eyes. I was challenged once and the dwell meter was dead on at 28 degrees. That eye sight is long gone.

Hi, that's right; If we didn't love our Airstreams we would be part of the group who trades up, down, or sideways every year.

Hi Gene,

Won't be anywhere near the red carpet. In the grand scheme of things, we are just a couple of Canadian peons pedalling a product.

If you send me your addy, a bag will be enroute.

Hey! Just realized something. Shouldn't it read "Rivet Mistress" (under the avatar) instead of "Rivet Mister?"

No - I Didn't Forget......

Unloved? Recently dumped? Stood up by a jerk? Can't get him to pose the question? Or maybe you just hate the love day, period.......

Presenting the Second Annual Valentine's Day Rally for the Embittered.

Date: February 14, 2015. (I know, I know, it doesn't give you much time, but the gas pedal is a good outlet for that repressed rage. You'll make it!)

Place: The FaN driveway (behind the barn). You've heard all about it. Now you can live the experience too - but watch where you step.

Dress: Who cares? Look your worse. You've given up on relationships, so wear those black polyester "fat pants," then spend the next two months filling them out.

Schedule of Events:

"Whine" and Cheese Meet and Cry Party

Airstream Open House: A creative challenge - decorate your Airstream to suit the mood. Here are some decorating tips that will be appreciated by all:
- dangle cupids with little nooses around their necks from the ceiling
- black hearts look great on the Airstream skin
- lotsa dead flowers in and around your Airstream
- and never ever pair-up those plastic-flamingo icons. One sad-looking solo flamingo only!

The Ever-Popular Airstream Potluck:

Please bring....
- jerk chicken
- cocktail bitters
- frozen T.V. dinners to go with the cold, cold hearts
- chicken wings (to chomp out the frustration of wasting all that time with those non-committal types) over-salted, of course, to rub more salt into the wound
- sour cherry pie
- heart-shaped cookies (broken into pieces)

Featured Activity:

Cupid Pinata Smash - to beat the crap out of followed by an essay contest, "Hitched Forever - Why I Will Never Love Anything but My Airstream Again."

The winner will receive gas money for the third annual Valentine's Day Airstream Rally for the Embittered, February 14th, 2016.

Valentine's Party

2942 miles at about 50 mph average.....about 60 hours if i drive straight through.......

Shucks, cannot make it. But, if I could I would have worn my favorite Valentines Day Button.... "You say I am a bitch like it is a bad thing."

As to Rivet Master....yes, maybe Rivet Queen.........

Our 28th Valentine's Day celebration featured painting the trim around our new garage doors and caulking underneath some of the wood so water can't wick up into the trim and rot it (previous owner didn't understand that). As our very slow exterior painting of the house proceeds, we discovered we didn't have enough paint for the wall. So we made a loving Valentine's Day trip to Lowe's for more paint (our Valentine's Day present to each other) and then had to decide where to eat our Valentine's Day dinner (we were too tired to cook). It had to be a place not so good it was booked up for the big day and not so bad to be barfalicious. We went to a mediocre brewpub and ate some junk food (a rare "treat") and a not so well made calzone. To cap off our romantic day, we watched Saturday Night Live (except it was all taped from long ago) and fell asleep with the TV on.

I hope everyone's Valentine's Day was as good as ours.
