Trip to the snow

Took a trip to Mt. Shasta for a little skiing. We meant to do it last year but the snow was not to our liking. And I thought we wanted to boondock at the parking lot of the slopes. Nah! Found out there is a really nice full service RV park just 10 miles away in McCloud. Dance Country RV Resort. Most of the park was covered in snow but the RV park roads were plowed as were 6 sites with heat tape on the water spigots. Other than my wife freaking on the chairlift and turning in her rentals after one run, we had a great time. Later on, in a more rational moment, she claims she'll give it a try again next season. Though she had not fear on the x-country track. Jamie

McCloud

Jamie---Nice to see you having fun in the McCloud area. What are the snow conditions like on the down hill skiing part of the mountain?
The Guest House B & B there is one of our all time favorite places to overnight. Opposite side of hwy 89 and near the train depot. It's the former home of the lumber baron who started this company town back in the early part of the last century. We stay there several times a year on our migrations between So Cal and the Oregon coast.

Mt. Shasta's ski area is very nice. Not too big. Rarely crowded. Expert skiers may get bored with it after a while but that's their problem. Another great feature is the prices. Check it out for yourself here. Jamie
