Towing on Avenue of the Giants?/nearby recs

We're still Airstream (and towing) newbies, and are planning a quick trip through way-Northern CA. For those who have BTDT, is towing a 27'er on the Avenue of the Giants unadvisable? I'm trying to get a good sense of how busy and narrow the road is.

Also, any recommendations for fabulous (or at least not awful) full hookup parks near Leggett (+/- 30 minutes) would be appreciated! We'll mostly be staying in state parks up north (Jedediah Smith and Patrick's Point), but we'd like full hookups for a night on the way up there.
Thanks!

My favorite full hookup park in that area is the Benbow Inn. If you've never been to the Benbow Inn it's a beautiful hotel built in 1926 overlooking the Eel River. The RV park is just on the other side of HWY 101 with a nice walkway between the hotel and RV park.

The park is on the bank of the river - just a very nice place and worth a visit.

Welcome to the forum! We pulled our 27FB thru the Avenue of the Giants last October with no problems. Some of the NP CGs on the Avenue are very tight so be careful around late afternoon because it is hard to see under the Giants that time of day. We love that stretch of road, just take your time and have fun!
