Last Leg Home from First trip
We are at the Hanna State park in Jacksonville tonight on the the last leg of our trip from picking up a new AS 31 08 Classic in Lakewood NJ. We left our home in Ft. Lauderdale over 2 1/2 weeks ago. We are new RVers coming from a boating lifestyle. I have a lot to post with photos and questions and some answers to my own. I will attempt to post when we finally return tomorrow night. We will have a short rest of 2 weeks and then off to the PNW on a round trip of 6 weeks.

What a great way to get rapidly inducted into the Airstream way of life. Looking forward to the pics and comments on your trek.

Gayle & I just finished a 3 month (10,000) 13 States in our 77 Argosy. This was the first time that eight of us has ever taken over a 2 week vacation. I have to correct of the 10,000 miles. We did about 8500 miles in the Argosy and purchased a 03 AS on the road but the AS was in Tampa, FL. The rest of the mileage was in our Safari coming back from Tampa. What a trip it was. We are already planning our next trip next year.

Hah! I knew the title of your earlier post couldn't stand for long. That was the one titled "Trip of a Lifetime". Now we see that you've got the bug bad, and perhaps this will have been just the first of many, Trips of the Year!
And many happy miles to you.

Congrats on the the new baby...What a madien voyage! Way to go! Sorry about the blow-out...hope you recovered from that OK...
Great pics...thanks for sharing...makes me want to load up, hitch up and hit the road even more...wasn't able to get out at all during the month of July...usually out 2 or 3 times a month if at all possible, even if just for short local trips...I'm ready!!
Many More Happy Trails to you! TB

Great looking rig. Beautiful photographs. Sorry about your tire problem, but the people at the Austin Discount Tire were tops when I lived there. I wish there was one in Little Rock. Where was the "flying saucer" located?

trip photo details
I am so tired after 400 mile drive stints that I forgot to give some captions to the pics. We were on 101 on the Oregon coast Pacific City and points south and north all the way to Cresent City in Ca to the Redwood loop south of there. The saucer reminded me of AS brushed aluminum and all was in NC on the outer banks south of hatteras near the ferry. We saw so much and at the same time soo little, it is like one big salad.....redwoods mixed with gambo now here tonight in Vinten La. Hopefully Mobile tomorrow and the Orlando and home early Friday. Too much too fast only thing I want now is to rest. I counted 3 exchange complexes today going through Houston that were at least 5 layers vertical!!!!! We changed tire to Carlisle 10 ply gives 3200 lb capacity verses 2500 on the factory supplied goodyears. I was all my fault. I was using a faulty tire guage finally adding air in Lodi Ca at a flying J since regular gas station air pressure would not go up to 65psi....so i thought. So the end result I began running at 95psi.......!!!!!!!!! all the way across Ca through the Mojave,........down to Tucson and finally blowing one tire across I 10 before Kerrvile Tx. A wonderment the others did not blow!!!!
