Foiled Again had a Wreck
Hi all,
I'm Paula Ford's (Foiled Again"s) sister, Karen.
Paula went into the ditch today about 5pm. Her Airstream is totaled. The "Mother Truck" fared better but will be out of commission for a week or two.
Paula is banged up but never lost consciousness and believes she is OK but is still in the ER being checked out.
She asked me to post for her in hopes that there is someone local who can help her out with retrieving her stuff from the trailer. She is currently in the ER in Mount Vernon, Indiana.
If you can help her please call her at 757-679-0132. If she doesn't answer please leave your name and number and she'll call you back. The Doc was sending her for x-rays when I last spoke with her at about 8:10pm.
Thanks,
Karen aka Prudence

Paula wrecked.
I hope to head out in the morning to help her out. She's saying not to but she's my favorite sister (read only sister) so I want to go.
We'll see what actually transpires in the morning.

Sorry to hear about Paula's accident. She is a fine lady and always very helpful here on the forum. I am in Lynchburg, Va and don't know if I can do anything to help as I am so far away. If Paula can think of anything I can do, she could call me at 434-401-4060.
I do have a spare Airstream, 84 31' Excella, that I could tow to Chesapeake that Paula could use for a while, if she might be interested. This would give her some time to find just the right Airstream for her.

Our prayers and thoughts are with you and Paula. Airstreams can be replaced Paula can't!
I am not close enough to offer help, but if you need anything ask.

Thanks Dan, that's very generous.
I'll pass on the info to her and she can let you know if that will help her out.

Whoa, Paula! Your forum buds certainly extend wishes for a steady recovery. Sorry that I'm 2K+ road miles northeast and can't get there. We'd have a bunch if wishes were fishes. Our support goes out to you wholeheartedly!
Anybody in south Indiana/Illinois or western Kentucky who can offer a hand? Karen, thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Oh no! Please tell Paula "FaN" is thinking about her, and wishing a speedy recovery.
I know Paula will be back on the road as soon as she can. She's a spunky woman.
Keep safe, fellow 'streamers.

I can't for the life of me think of a forum member that lives down that way. Is there a way to search members by location?
Give Paula all our best wishes and prayers.
EDIT: go to the search bar and use the GOOGLE field and type in Evansville, IN
Some members popped up. Go to their profile and send some emails, if you feel comfortable with that.

I just spoke with Paula, and she seems to be okay, somewhat bruised, and of course shaken. She says her truck may live to tow another day, but her Airstream is almost certainly a write-off. From what she said, I think the truck is also toast, most don't tolerate being rolled and having an Airstream shoved up their nether regions too well.
She said to let everyone know she now just happens to be in the market for a slightly used Airstream, preferably around 27 feet long, to continue fulltiming in. If nothing else, her sense of humor is intact...

Thank you, Terry, for reporting on Paula. She is one of the lynchpins here at the Forums, and we are so glad to hear that she is OK. The Airstream and the tow vehicle can be replaced, one of our most prolific members cannot.

Dang, that bite's! Hope she's doing okay and I'm betting she's one of those tough ones that will bounce right back. Thank's for letting us know, sending up good wishes for a speedy recovery and for luck in finding a new trailer!
