Driving from Tarrytown, NY to Montreal sans Airstream

We will be driving from Tarrytown, NY to Montreal the middle of October and wanted to know what things we should be sure to see along the way. We will be without our Airstream so will be looking for a B & B somewhere on that route......any suggestions? pj

That is Leaf Season - anywhere in the Adirondacks will be great. Lake Placid comes to mind - maybe the gondola ride up Whiteface Mountain too. There is a nice B&B about 25 miles from the Canadian border just north of Plattsburgh. Point Au Roche Lodge, 463 Point Au Roche Rd. 518.563.8714

Thanks, Ron. That is what we are looking for. We wish we could have our Airstream to travel in but it is too far to travel with it from California for such a short time.......pj

Wow, I never expected that. I guess since New England gets booked for leaf season, the spillover into NY is getting the same result. It is just as nice here!

I really don't know of any other B&B's that I would feel comfortable recommending, do a Google search in the area, but you're on your own, sorry.

Thanks for trying.....the other issue is we want a room for one night and most B & B's want a 2 night minimum on the weekend....will keep trying.

We are so excited about seeing that part of New York at that time of the year......I lived in Syracuse in the mid 60's but we never really explored the upper eastern part of the state.....thanks again for your input....paula

Hmmm, I would suggest you take a book for pleasure...something like Thornton Wilder's It was a happy journey. I am sorry, I couldn't resist.

The Warrensburg is having there garage sale, claiming to be the world's largest from 29 Sept-30 Sept 2007. May want to leave a little earlier. The WBCCI NY Metro unit is having a rally up there that weekend.
