Do You Have A Gnome?
And more importantly does he/she travel with you?
Here's our gnome at Kirk Creek, south of Big Sur on the California coast.
Come on 'Streamers, post your gnome images. What cool/picturesque/awesome/exotic places have your gnomes gone?

No, no Gnome, but we do have Moose, who we obtained our first year of retirement. He travels with us everywhere, perched on the dash. Hubby says he doesn't shed, doesn't tear things up, doesn't leave things places he shouldn't , requires no midnight walks or costly trips to the vet, etc. We love him.
Moose is handcarved by Roy Pilcher of Devils Tower, WY, who makes amazing artwork out of pieces of tree or entire trunks left standing by a storm or lightning strike. We wanted a Moose with a sweet face. He used a 3lb coffee can to gauge proper height, carved him, sent a photo and then shipped him to us.

No Gnome
I don't have a gnome but I have Stella. I found Stella abandoned at Sumner Lake NM and saved her. She got her name because I was having a temper tantrum about a busted water line and reminded my wife of Marlon Brando screaming "Hey Stella" in On the Waterfront". Just coincidental Stella is Wally's wife and no resemblance is implied. (But it's a nice coincidence).
Stella is an exemplar of maintaining a emotionally balanced world view in spite the certainty of being faced with the ubiquitous vesisitudes of life.
Stella, by the way, is in need of an extreme makeover, in fact she is just plain rotting, so if anyone knows where I can find I clone I would be grateful.

No gnome.
We have a 2004 CCD.
With it's mid-century styling a gnome just wouldn't work.
Maybe Troll Doll would work?
As a child of the 60's, I remember when they were a big fad the first time around, not the nostalgia fad of the 90's.
I know I share this memory with a lot of you out there.
My Troll had orange hair which would be perfect for my orange CCD.
The problem is...the whole Troll Doll thing is and was a bit creepy for me.
I did not save my Troll and do not miss him.
What I do miss is my Mrs. Beasley!

No, gnomes aren't space-age enough for my Airstream. I have a little statue of Marvin to take on trips with me.

Farfel
I've also got Farfel. Farfel and Stella are friends. I can hear them talking to each other late at night.
Gnome comes from the root gnosis or knowledge and are practitioners of gnosticism. The cowboy equivalent would be Quimosabe or "he who knows" The gnostics were burned at the stake as heretics so be careful displaying your gnome. You may want to disguise your gnome as a republican.

The Sex Life of the Gnome
Be careful with your gnomes. They are androgenous and promiscuous. It you don't take precautions you will have a population explosion of the little fellers.

WildRTexas, Michelle and Leon, SilverHoot, and BWH - Utah,
Have you considered adoption? There are so many deserving gnomes that are longing to find loving homes.

Can you provide a loving, gnurturing home to a gneedy gnome?

Well I have sorta?.. Besides growing up next to a yard full of gnomes, which would probably be the orpanage of my choosing, I "was" a true believer of leprechauns. My whole family was in on it, it was my equivalent for Santa.
Come to think of it, I have a little "statue" of a leprechaun, that was sent to me from my grandparents friend from Ireland. He came with a letter from the heads of the leprechaun community, written in gold ink, a few "gold" coins, and a friend leprechaun who mysteriously binged away along time ago. Yes binged! I invented the word and Bing.com still hasn't sent me a check.
I saw him at my parents place few days ago, I think I will take "the statue" with me. He's only 5" and even though I've always liked the gnomes, travelocity kinda ruined it for me, and I'm very aware of there promiscuity. (Don't turn your head for a minute, or another will bing to the dimension that weighs down the trailer.)

oh.. they are beyond space age.
I wonder what happened to my little marven... he must have binged away with the leprechaun or finally assembled a rocket and took the leprechaun with him. Think the missing leprechaun was a she... Kinda sad I never named them. I think their last name was O'Toole. lol
I never realized the drama going on in my bedroom. I can't imagine what lead to the separation of the O'Tooles..?
But yes, I realize leprechauns aren't gnomes. I'm not sure of the difference, maybe a few mushrooms.?
