massey, in post #75 - was looking at your rig more than the landmark.

It is an attractive, well-kept motorhome. And very appealing, size wise.

Tom,

Winner, ring the bell.

Yes, the other Stone Mt S.P. in North Carolina.

The homestead is just in the second picture, the SP has maintained it and is a walk around tour after the what 15 minute or so walk to get to Stone Mt. Its pretty neat.

After Alumalina this fall, we went to Stone Mt. for 6 days. The campsites are in a real neat valley and we were impressed enough to want to go back. No touristy traps nearby but great access to NW N.C. the Blue Ridge, Boone, Mt. Airy, wineries and great scenery.

BINGO. Gary you are the winner. Keep checking the mail for your prize, it's " ON THE WAY". Boy, you guys are good. I hope this thread keeps going for awhile 'cause I'm getting a lot of good ideas from the photo's ya'll are sending. And Gary. No we didn't win. Didn't even go inside just caught the photo from the sidewalk.

See ya'll on the road sometime. We're heading west again this coming summer.

My Stomping Grounds

Another photo from the same feature as post 34. Want a couple more hints? This site is occassionally covered with shallow water which is not potable. Thousands of years ago the whole area was covered with a large lake, of which this is the lowest point at an elevation of about 6000 feet.

Just throwing one more out there but no clues this time. For some reason seeing this statue really was pretty special.

Correct Gary. Daytona Speedway. There was nothing happening when we were there in early 2008 but I made a detour just to see where it was.

You can't win them all Jim.

Post 34 and 82 remain unsolved.

Here is a new one from an old city that you may have visited.

If you have been there you will need no other clues.

That's a famous western landmark. It's Pooping Dog, Wyoming.

Here are two pictures that are not far from one another. Both are historically significant. There are a few clues in the pictures. The third picture is part of the route between the first two pictures.
