September 2017 photo contest: Remoteness
As the August winner, I'm expounding on the August theme of "boondocking" by suggesting the theme of "remoteness". (I took a quick look at the thread stack and didn't see anything along these lines - I hope I'm not being repetitive.)
You can be remote without boondocking, and you can be boondocking without being remote, so they are not the same. In fact, I'd love to know about the most remote Airstream-accessible places that actually have some services to go with them. Everybody needs a shower once in a while, which isn't always possible while boondocking (says the voice of experience).
Here's my contribution to kick off the thread... far northeastern Nova Scotia, where we currently are, and yes, it looks pretty danged remote, doesn't it?? That speck in the lower right corner is our rig, as seen by our drone.

This is on Utah 128 near Big bend Campground northeast of Moab. The ride along the Colorado River is worth the effort.

different remote
We were just about out of it, but it certainly still looks remote - weather can do that. I80, West bound and down, headed for Salt Lake and beyond. Pat

Not really boondocking, more like on the way. But it was too good of a photo not to share.
Probably our last trip of the season before the snow and cold set in here in Alaska. This shot was taken by my wife right along the Kenai River as we headed south. The sun was blaring in our face but it was raining! Normal Alaska fall weather.
Enjoy!

They are all wonderful, but my choice is Allan & Vicki (Bigcgar) for the WY shots, my reason being, I can’t see any evidence of development in those shots. The land itself is not soaring or massive – obviously it is more subtle in its wilderness expression. But there’s nothing out there!! Congrats on finding such a unique opportunity!! And during the eclipse to boot!
Honorable mention to Msmoto for that stunning Utah photo. One gets the feeling that the Airstream is miniscule in relation to the land, even with the bright red STOP sign being visible as evidence of civilization.
So Bigcgar, the photo ball is now in your court.

Wow I am speechless [emoji6]. Thanks for pickin me for last months photo selection. Yes it was remote and unfortunately I cannot be divulged the location without the threat of losing my ranch and river privileges. [emoji22]. I guess I now have responsibility to pick the October subject. Coming soon (today).
Cheers,
Allan
