August 2012 Photo Contest

Change of Direction!

AFTER I posted my idea for the August Photo Contest, my most objective and open critic (aka: my wife) said she didn’t like my idea. Although she felt it was indeed creative, it was too involved, and she stated that the last few photo contests seemed to be getting more and more difficult (multiple themes, excessive writing, etc.) and less participation. Her suggestion was that I should have kept it simple (she couldn't have told me before I posted?). So after some thought, maybe she is right.... (did I just admit that? ) So everyone can breathe a sigh of relief, and not worry about their creative writing abilities. So let me apologize in advance for the change of mind , and start shooting those photos or searching old ones. The Official Theme for the August Photo Contest is:

Color Wonderful

The only two rules for this theme is to capture color and contain all or part of an airstream. Contestants can photograph whatever catches their eye---rainbows, flowers, fabrics, birds---as long as the photo in some way features brilliant colors and an Airstream.

Examples of what I’m looking for:
1. The Colors of an LED lit palm tree mounted to an Airstream
2. The bright neon colors of the barbecue in front of an Airstream at a themed rally
3. The cool blues on a cold night.
4. The warm rich colors of this Cigar Lounge Airstream
5. The natural colors of nature, oh.... yeah, and the Airstream.

I’m still asking for input (politely) from all viewers to help decide which photo best shows color.

Thumbs up Great idea for the Photo Contest

On a snowy night (Actually, this was the prelude to the biggest blizzard in 12 years). With, and without, flash.

There are some amazing photos here. With everything in Oklahoma dead from lack of rain and my old, oxidized AS I doubt I can get a good pic but that doesn't mean I won't try!!

Yeah Shari, but do you know how hard it is to live with her, now that I've admitted she was right?

Keep the pictures rolling in. I'm loving them.
