I wonder if you're looking at the license-plate holder (that's shown without a plate on Airstream's page, so it just looks black like the tinted window.)

I want to see the option list, not just what dealers are ordering.

Thank you for correcting. When I'd seen it the first time I'd thought he'd said there wasn't one, re-watching it now, thankfully there is.
I wonder how shallow the system is to maintain ground clearance as much as possible?

It seems interesting that the ONE trailer they design for off-road use doesn't have rock guards and has unprotected tempered glass windows. I wonder how off-road some will be willing try with it.

According to the on line list the only options are the tents. I would suppose the dealers have order sheets that people curious can view for other available options.

In some of the videos and photos referenced in the early posts here, you can see the holding tank sticking down, inboard of the dump valve. IMO it is just forward of the axle, so it is somewhat protected, but obviously a prominent rock, curb or other obstruction could do some real damage when turning or backing into a site.
Also, those two "tip-proofing" protrusions under the rear corners look like easy targets as well.

In Patrick's video, I wonder why everything that has been spec'd about the trailer states 18" wheels and in the video they are 18" tires, but the tire loading sticker on the side is for 20" tires (20:45 video) ? Maybe they'll be an option..

The sticker on the side of the one at the Hershey show states GVWR 3250lbs and factory weight of 2813lbs - allowed cargo weight of 437lbs

We're oldish with a '79 Sovereign that's being renovated. But we're hardcore aficionados of all vintage trailers. I wish I had enough time to read this entire thread, so it may have already been mentioned. The Basecamp reminds us of Wally Byam's very first trailer design. He originally sold it as a kit. A doctor owned one and it stayed in his family until just a year or two ago. While you're traveling about in your Basecamps make sure you stop at the RV museum here in Texas who has it now.

Got to agree. The only person who has a right to dictate thread content is the OP, as far as I'm concerned. Or a moderator, if it goes seriously off the rails. Peter is neither and needs to lighten up a bit and stop behaving like this is his own personal space.

I make use of the blocking feature for people that annoy me.

No one was dictating anything . . . just a reminder for folks who might not have realized that there are actually 3 similar threads with interesting discussions of the new Basecamp, Nest (and other similar small trailers), and Less Expensive Airstream.
PS speaking of "levity" and "lightening up" . . .
Have a good weekend.

Went and checked out the tents today. They are really cool!! If you go for the tent option there is some grommets that you have to drill to attach. (They don't pre drill so if you don't go for that option. No big deal). There is also some black stripping that you have to remove from the gutter rail to attach the tents, or awning, before first use. Once you have these changes done it can be fully enclosed. The tents do make the trailer. They really add to the living space footprint and the back can be used for back storage while the side tent is like a roomy enclosed screen porch. Can screen on 3 sides or fully zip down for privacy. Super tall so a little learning curve but instructions walk you thru step by step exactly. About 30 min for fist set up was reported by the dealer.

Wonder how they hold up in wind and blowing rain? Any indication of who the tent maker actually is?

I believe it is made by pahaque. Sp? They seem very well made. But it is a tent so I'm sure it has it limitations. That is the name I was given as the makers
