The next day, when everything was dry, I took a close-up view, which revealed what looked like an indentation, and possibly a pinhole mark or hairline crack.

The few drops that fall when using the filtered (drinking) water faucet can be caught by a hand towel for now until we have enough items to justify a trip to a well qualified and trusted Airstream Service Department!

But that is another story for others to tell… for now!

Happy Summer Reading and Exploring!

SilverGate and Diego Flamingo,

I always enjoy reading about your latest escapades and what you're doing to upgrade your AS. This is one of my favorite threads.

I thank you for that great tip on the "Spooky Campfire Tales." What a terrific book! When I pulled it out at the campfire last week and showed my 7 year old son, he got out of his chair and climbed into his mother's lap preparing himself for what was to come. Because it was so late we only got through the first two stories. What fun it was though! Now we can't wait for our next trip and some more Spooky Stories.

Thanks, Don (mistral blue, Vintage Thunder), for your comments.

I’m glad that you enjoy this thread, as well as the "Spooky Campfire Tales" book by S. E. Schlosser.

In my last posting about exploring inner trailer spaces, I left out one more interesting space, the area on the front inner wall accessed under the L-Lounge.

This space has a number of electrical wires and components, including the Solar Charge Controller.

The Charge Controller is a part of our Factory-installed Solar Charging System, which is one of the best "upgrades" that we did right from the beginning, by choosing this as an important option in our Factory Build Order.

See details of this along with photos of the system on my latest new thread at:

Summer's End Surfin' Safari!

Well, finally, Labor Day has past and the crowds of tourists are receding…

Camp spaces are opening up and the weather is very comfortable.

So we staked out some turf by the surf…

On the bluff at South Carlsbad State Beach, CA (a non-hook-up camp ground)
http://www.parks.ca.gov/default.asp?page_id=660

Diego Flamingo is just beside himself.

(BTW, Larry made the banner showing the silhouette of Point Loma and the Old Pt. Loma Lighthouse at Cabrillo National Monument where we are Living History Docents).

We chose a wide site so that the door opens to a wonderful ocean view and breeze.

The F-250 is positioned to maximize privacy, which is also enhanced by thick bushes on each side.

The continuous roar of ocean waves is relaxing and softens noise made by neighbors.

We took advantage of the continuous ocean breeze and brought kites.

The Dragon and Flamingo kites are from:
http://www.funwithwind.com/store/dynamicIndex.asp

The Chinese kites (Dragonfly, Gold Fish, & Butterfly) are from a local Chinese merchant.

We’ve recently discovered it’s fun and relaxing to fly kites.

See Rich C. (Gadget’s Airstream Chronicles) enjoy his foil kite at Ft. Desoto last October 16, 2006, at: http://www.hikenbike.net/wordpress/2006/10/16/fort-desoto-revisited/

I, of course, also enjoyed flying kites…

And worked up an appetite…

Meanwhile, Diego Flamingo looked on as Pau Hoa , our Pug, models the fall fashions…

Now for the improvements, ideas, etc....

Multi-use cooking utensils are also handy for re-heating foods when boondocking.

Continuing with the theme of the importance of multi-use items in a trailer…

We continue to appreciate this Charcoal Companion Griddle/Grill from Bed, Bath, & Beyond.

We are showing it here used to facilitate the defrosting of meat.

It fits both the Hibachi and our Platinum Smokey Joe.

Inside, we’ve added a wood beaded curtain from Pier 1 Imports…

And seasonal decorations of hanging fish from Party City (Party supply store)

The Lounge features a Jacquard bedspread with an African motif from the San Diego Wild Animal Park and Zoo.

Draped on the lounge is a T-shirt sporting a rhino on the plains of Africa with Kilimanjaro in the background.

On the shelf is a Harvest basket displaying paper mache fruit and vegetables (Mexican Folk Art).

Below that are my Solar Power Notes.

The duck is actually lighter than it looks!

And of course, Airstream Life Magazine is always an improvement!
