Old upholstery

I have a 1987 Airstream 345 with original fabric on couch, bench dinning and club chairs. I can't afford to reupholster or replace cafe chairs at this time. I am curious as to what creative was may have been used to hide and protect the old stuff from disintigrating? Pictures?

The driver and passenger seats are leather that are getting cracked and old. I thought beach towels might be good for those.

Flea Mkts and Thrift stores

If you are really lucky sometimes you can find left over fabric bolts and the like at flea markets and thrift stores.
We went to Elkhart, IN and found lots of RV salvage places. They sometimes strip out a perfectly good interior to do a custom job. We found lots of fabrics on bolts. You can buy them at drastically reduced prices. The selections are limited, but it is not too expensive. They have shades, chairs, captain's chairs, small couches etc. too. It was fun going through the big warehouses to see what they had.
I was lucky enough to find some nice fabric and a local thrift store. Foam I purchased at JoAnn Fabrics for 40% off with my coupons.
One of my friends found some Hawaiian themed, really pretty wild tee shirts and slipped them over her car seats for covers. That turned out pretty neat!
Good luck with your projects.

Bring your 345 to Quartzsite for the Thanksgiving rally. Terry (TBRich) and Greg will be there and I'm sure they will have some helpful suggestions.

I'm not sure what you're budget is but......

There's always this place:

http://http://www.slipcovershop.com/index.asp

They make all types of covers for chairs, couches, bed wedges, mattress, etc. You can choose zippered or elastic type for the cushion types. They have lots of fabric colors, patterns & textures to choose from too.

Not sure I can make that. I might be back east with family.
