Mattress for `85 25' Sovereign

I have just bought a rear, side bed model and it is missing the mattress. It appears to be very similar in size to a standard full-size mattress but the corner near the rear of the TT is shaped oddly because of the shape of the TT. Any suggestions on where to get another one? I live in Raton, NM, which is right on the Colorado border on I-25.

TIA and happy travels,
Tubbs

Try checking the yellow pages of your nearest metropolitan area looking for mattress manufacturers or custom mattresses. A local specialty firm made new mattresses for my Overlander that were so comfortable that I purchased a new king size set from the same line for the bedroom in my home. The shop that made my mattresses asked for a simple craft-paper template with basic measurements that they could use in creating the mattress. While I am certain that each shop has its own methods, the one that I worked with had an up-charge of $75 for mattresses of non-standard size and/or shape (this was added to the regular retail price of nearest standard mattress in size).

Good luck with your search!!

Kevin

Bearbeds are pricey but have had happy customers on the Forums (do a search). Small cities usually have one or more custom mattress shops. Kevin has posted a number of times on this issue and has always voiced his satisfaction. Me? I'm still using the OEM mattresses on our Safari -- and dey ain't great...

Thanks

Thanks for the replies guys. I researched the subject more thoroughly on the forums AFTER posting, sorry. Your inputs here were still helpful. I found a custom maker in Denver that has been recommended here before. I will likely give them a call. I hope they can do the craft paper method as I'm about 5 hours from Denver and don't want to pull the trailer there for the measurements if I can help it.

Sorry I didn't respond sooner but for some reason the forum server didn't notify me of the replies although I had subscribed to the thread.

Thanks again,
Tubbs

Hi,

When I search for "Bearbeds", the only "Happy Customer" on the forum I find is John. Maybe I am not searching properly. Any other Bearbed owners out there that can attest to their comfort and quality?

Thanks
Dale

Try Memory foam mattress, rv mattresses, memory foam pillows, memory foam, foam, bed wedge, bolster, pillow, bed wedge, leg wedge, rv mattress, cushion covers. these guys are great. You just send them a template, they will create you a mattress out of the material of your choice and don't charge for shipping.
