drapes fyi home sewists

i took pics and uploaded them today of drapes i made from a 30 yd bolt of muslin from joanns. to my chagrin i didn't need to repress. i have a 29' '70 ambassador. total cost for the whole trailer is 66.00. the previous owner took every single rod out so i used springs rods and reason why no rods on bottom. gave airstream my vin # and they inturn sent me dimentions for all my windows. i washed them today for the first time in 3 yrs on the gentle cycle. i used elastic to make loops to slide over rods. the front is very scrunched as i made them with the hope of finding the proper rod which will go the radius. sure they don't look professional but they are quite suitable. even had enough to make sure all were lined.

nice job. Your pleating makes them look original! I was going to do the same until I came across some drapes with a cartridge pleat - and I fell in luv with that look. It will probably be a PITA, but I'm going to try it. The PO of my AS removed the bottom rods --- sigh.

I believe they mimic the look (i.e. the drape) of those grommet topped curtains.... I think they're pretty modern looking
Look at page 107 of this book exerpt (Google Book Search) for details (by Colette Wolfe "The Art of Manipulating Fabric") : The Art of Manipulating Fabric - Google Book Search

And I might just buy the tape to make it easier:
Cartridgte Pleat Tape - Drapery Making Supplies

Simple Elegance and a clean look with our Cartridge Pleats!
