Classic Oceanaire Accordion Blinds

One of my accordion blinds in my '15 Classic was virtually impossible to deploy. I figured this was inevitable. So, I removed the panel with the blind in it and VERY carefully examined the mechanism. It is somewhat complicated to disassemble, but it is doable. What I found was one of the carriers was not allowing the cord to slide easily. I untied the cord and removed the carrier. I used a very small drill to enlarge the plugged hole. The hole was filled with crud. Once I cleaned it out I did the reassembly. I also used this opportunity to move the tracks into a better position to make the blind close entirely. I should have done this years ago, but was fearful I'd break something. Word to Classic owners: YOU can repair them!

How did you get the blind detached from the window casing? Our string broke and I’m trying to see if I can fix it but not sure how to detach it once I get the casing off the wall.
