Patch or replace entire panel?

My husband and I just bought an '85 Sovereign that we are gutting and converting into a temporary home. It has one exterior hole on the front right panel. We are new to all this. Should we patch or replace entire panel?

Cheating?

Yea, maybe.

To me it just wasn't worth replacing a whole panel.

It depends on what you are looking for in your finished product.

"Factory fresh" was not something I was looking for in my build.

All I can tell you is what I would do, I would patch a 4" hole.

There is an entire thread here somewhere dedicated to very cool patches. I'll try to find it for you. When you see that thread, you'll know why I would recommend a patch! I don't need one but I'm tempted to do one just for fun!

Thanks! I think we will go with an interesting patch. We might have a couple vent holes to patch as well, so now I need to think of a theme!
