Wood veneer used in a '64 Trade Wind?

Does anyone know what type of wood veneer was used in a '64 Trade Wind? We have some cabinets and closets that are delaminating, but the plywood frames are all solid. We'd rather just replace the veneer, leaving as much of the original interior intact as possible. But, the choices for wood veneer are mind-bogglining and I really don't know where to start looking.

I'm hoping someone out there knows a quick answer. Many thanks in advance for your help!

If you could post a picture someone will be able to confirm. However, our 1964 has oak, which was standard.

Here is a couple photo's of Felix after we brought him home showing the wood on the cabinets. Last photo is of Felix this past Sunday night, after finding out the fresh water tank would not hold water.

I have the same thing in my '64 Bambi II. It's beautiful wood and really looks good with an application of Watco Oil.

Um, where is the floor around the walls? Is your U channel riding on the outriggers????

Section of floor was left in the very front and on the right side a section was left just behind the door. Left side has small pieces of wood between wall and outriggers.

I believe my 1964 uses red oak.

Shari, Maxwell is simply stunning! I stumbled across an article featuring him (long before I ever found this website) and fell in love. Thanks for sharing your passion and talent.

Somehow, (I'm not really sure how it happened) we wound up taking more out of the airstream than I ever dreamed we would. I read a post once where someone mentioned awaking from a stupor to find they gutted their airstream. I guess maybe that's what happened to us....

But, we're well on our way to fixing the few soft-spots we found in the floor. The cabinets will be easier to work with since they're no longer attached to anything, right? The awful brick patterned contact paper that was stuck to the wall behind the galley came off easier if I didn't have to lean over, well, a stove. I can easily rip out the gorgeous (NOT!) contact paper in the pantry shelves. After all, they're not attached to anything anymore.

I read something on this forum once that I'll never forget (besides the hint one member gave to another member about checking Craigslist for Airstreams. That brought us to Felix): he (or she) wrote upon learning of an AS purchase by another member "congratulations! You just put a downpayment on what will someday be a nice trailer....."

How true it is!
