cabinet tambour not sliding

I just bought an 1979 International sovereign 29 foot. the interior cabinet rollers were stuck, I sprayed wd 40 on them and it helped for a few days, now I cant get in at all to even light my pilots to do a test on my appliances, any clues on freeing up the roller compartment system?

Run a board search on "Tambour" or "Tambor". Mine needed to be disassembled and cleaned to be made functional. Sometimes even that won't be enough. Silicone would be a better choice than WD-40. You are dealing with plastic and paperboard pieces the WD will gum them up and possibly detiorate some of the components. I have one that is particularly sticky, I am going to take it back apart and try waxing the slides and the tambour part and see if that helps, if not I will probably build a new tambour or come up with another door solution for that area.

3 PostsPosted - 04/03/2005 : 04:53:15 AM We just purchased a 1979 International with the rear end bath, and took it out on a maiden voyage. The rear end had a sag, the holding tank was cleaned. On the trip home the rear end dropped off and we had no option but to drag it home, it was eve and all the welding shops were closed. It looks like the whole compartment that is underneath the rear end bath dropped down, ripped hoses and lines and compartment with circles on it. I have the owners and service manual but they do not have diagrams of interior compartments beneath the flooring. What is this stuff that just fell out so that I have direction on how to repair or replace?
