My univolt converter is not working please help

nice to see another '92 29 footer!
can you describe some of the symptoms to us so we can help? is the converter plugged in? is the outlet it plugs into hot?

Yes it is plugged in and I checked the plug and i have 110 volts. no 12 units work and I have no heat as the furnace will not work. and no 12 volt lights.

Also my vehicle does charge the battery but 1 day after I unplug from the vehicle the battery goes dead. The univolt converter does not make any noise or does not give off any heat as a converter should.

i cannot remember if it is internally fused or not. your remark about charging from the truck answered my next question.
at this point if you are comfortable with removing it, take it out and remove the cover to see if there is an internal fuse.
otherwise, this would be a perfect time to upgrade to an intellipower as i plan to this spring.

John, I have read alot about the intellipower unit and it is a great improvement over the stock Univolt, but have you heard anything about the WFCO converters? The member who runs bestconverter.com had a thread about them earlier this year and it sounds like this unit has the functionality of the charge wizzard built in. I have not seen any threads where members had installed any of these yet.

just read up on randy's site about the wfco converter, it would be nice to have a all in one unit.

I don't mind the separate charge management module. You can mount the converter on the floor and have the module at eye level.
You'll appreciate that when you get old and your knees give out.

I removed my battery and found out it was bad also, so I replaced it and still no converter power. can someone advise the cost of a intellipower unit and where to buy it. I will try and check for a fuse in my old unit.

depending on size (amperage) they run 175 to 200 bucks.
do a search for intellipower you should find some vendors that way. -or- look in the vendor's forum there should be some listings for them.

The reason WFCO did away with the remote charging module is because they were responsible for overcharging batteries. Even Progressive Dynamics if following suit with the 9200 series but it's not avalable to distributers, OEM only. Actually, it's not the module causing the overcharging but rather the consumer who pushes the button when he/she shouldn't. More often then not, people think it's ok to "Top off" their batteries before they go to bed and too often, the batteries were already charged and they just through 14.4 volts at them for no reason. For those of you that have remote modules...let it do it's job, unless you have a DC monitor like the Link 10, Trimetric, or Vena to know exactly what state the batteries are in.
We have been very impressed with the new 9800 series WFCO and they have actually past inteli-power in sales from our store. They are really catching on. We will continue to carry the Intelipower because there is still high demand and they are a good unit too.

I was suprised to find that the Inteli-power goes into boost (14.4V) every 21 hours. Is that a misprint?

Mark, that is while in the storage mode, it will jump to boost to help with battery sulfation for 15 minutes and then go back to storage, 13.2. It will not do that in the normal mode.
