Our Dream is a Reality

Hi everyone, we finally realized a 30 year dream of obtaining an Airstream!!! It’s an Argosy, but it’s an Airstream.

We purchased a 1978 Argosy 24 and aside from MAJOR cleaning - this beauty looks like it was in a showroom for 20 years.

We have cleaned the outside, have started the inside, plan on removing the furnace, stove, rebuild the table for weight reasons, new counter, redesigned and modernize/retro the bath, and oh the fridge .... we will be calling upon many of you to clean, re-seal, and get this 3 way Dometic fridge working.

We plan on re-covering the cushions and making all new drapes, cause gold and brown just are not my thing.

Oh yeah and our awning, it’s intact!! But we just cannot figure it out completely - thank you for the PDF on Carefree Awnings, but we are still missing some pics of how the arms extend and connect. We are currently replacing any steel screws with stainless.

We look forward to communicating with everyone - in the three weeks we own this trailer, your forums have been a wealth of info already. THANK YOU

Hello from Colorado: Yep, the Argosy is an Airstream all right, and a quite advanced one at that. I understand Airstream use the Argosy brand to try out new stuff, like those panoramic windows in front. There is quite a following of Argosy owners here on these Forums. Jump right in and enjoy.

I met some very niice folks with a very nice Argosy in a campground some time ago. Being very nice is a requirement for Argosy ownership. Here is a picture of their trailer. I don't remember the year. I think you have a very nice one. I don't know when Airstream started or ended the Argosy line.
