Talking Newbie in CA

I am picking up my new 2012 Flying Cloud in Eugene, after Labor Day. I'm close to 70 and have never driven a truck, nor pulled a trailer. I don't have time to wait for the perfect used trailer or the time to restore one. I'm living my dream now even though I don't have enough money left for gas! Reading truck manuals, researching hitches, and
often hear "go girl go!" I am having a wonderful time and don't even have the Air. Think what a frolic it will be when I pick it up! Hopefully, the roads will be clear and the camp grounds empty. I looked at an Air today and it looked awfully large. I'm going to have this following me down the road? Yikes.

Welcome to the airforums Orson!

I am excited for you and your new Flying Cloud..
Just take it slow and get some practice in a parking lot before you set out. You will do great.

In a few years we will be neighbors as we have a piece of property in Nevada City. Beautiful country.

Cant wait to see pictures once it arrives.

Cheers Vinnie

Congratulations, Orson! Be sure and post some pictures when you can. We just picked up our Airstream in July and couldn't be happier with it. The forum has been such a help to us and the people are fantastic. Welcome!

Congrats on your new endeavor, or should I say adventure!

The 25 ft AS will tow like a dream - that's a good size to have following behind you!

Take it slow and easy to start - don't forget those narrow roads or bridges tend to crowd you on the RH side of the road, so take care to keep plenty of room there when you see one of those 'Narrow Bridge' signs!

Slow and easy when going into gas stations, parking lots, etc...you'll get the hang of it!

BTW...most all of us here refer to our Airstreams as 'AS' or 'Airstream', not 'Air' - to avoid confusion with other things that have the word 'air', etc...

Have a great time with your new 'Aluminum Tube'

Greetings from the Florida Panhandle

Welcome to the Forums. We're glad to have you with us. Congrats on the new baby. We also have a 25FB. Great floor plan. We have pulled our Lucy 80,000 miles and have spent over 900 nights in her.

So jealous! We're waiting to hear when 2012 27ft Flying Cloud will be at Sutton RV in Eugene. It's supposed to come off of the assembly line TODAY. The wait is killing me.

Congratulations, so excited for you.
